Living Poetry

Living Poetry is the largest group of poets in the Raleigh-Durham area. Fascinated by the power of poetry, members of Living Poetry are dedicated to keeping the pulse of poetry alive in the North Carolina Triangle.

Living Poetry is not limited to poets. Even though there are many talented and award-winning local poets in the group, some members simply read works of other authors, while others attend just to listen to the poetry being read.

Living Poetry offers a variety of ways for people to come together who appreciate poetry. Some meetings are exclusively for reading poetry (whether penned by the reader or by authors throughout history), while others are focused on critiques. Poet’s Lounge and Exploratory Poet events bring poets in the community together providing venues for inspiring exchange and fun afternoons or evenings.
